Bitch Judging - Judge: Jenny Dove
I thoroughly enjoyed my day judging at this excellently run show. I was very pleased with my entry of 148 from 123 bitches. Many thanks to the committee for their kind hospitality and thanks to the exhibitors for creating such a food atmosphere. I was very happy with the quality and size of the classes, particularly with the quality of the winners.
Veteran Bitch (9,1)
1st Maidwell's Becscott Charming Bouquet. 10 years old, fawn brindle and white. Lovely stylish hound, still moves with drive, excellent body and depth, good size and kept topline when moving.
2nd Ledger's Ch Tradewind Touchstone JW ShCM. 8 years old red brindle. One I have judged before, she just lacked the enthusiasm today when moving. Sound throughout, slightly preferred her head and expression to the winner, pleased to award her daughter the CC today.
3rd Ledger's Tradewind Quicksilver
Minor Puppy Bitch (7)
1st Wilson's Cornstalk Charm in Tealas. 8 months fawn, lovely head and expression, I liked her overall type and quality, mature, sound mover. Won this class with ease.
2nd Steward-Farner's Crosscop Summertime at Wakebarrow. Very naughty 7 months red brindle and white. Feminine head and dark eye, has good overall balance, looked better standing than moving as she was rather unsettled today.
3rd Robertson's Moonlake Mazda
Puppy Bitch (12)
1st Neale's Stormalong Post Haste. Well constructed pup who, at 11 months, has excellent type and balance, good length of neck, front and hind angulation co-ordinate, good depth of brisket and length to body, well handled. Just preferred her side movement to 2nd. RBPIS to a very special, mature dog pup Cobyco Change Direction.
2nd Head's Demerlay First Love. Very pretty 10 1/2 months red fawn/white. Excellent head and eye. More glamorous pup than winner, well bodied, sound front and rear, slightly longer cast than above, excellent handling. Two promising pups who, I am sure, have a rosy future.
3rd Garvey's Jenaul Elderberry.
Junior Bitch (10,1)
1st McLeod's Nevedith Royal Romance at Peperone. 14 months old. A real showgirl, brindle fawn/white, feminine head, excellent expression, elegant throughout. Looked good both standing and moving, good size and type. Pleased to hear she gained her JW today (congratulations).
2nd Wilson's Pipijay Celestial Gaze at Speymalt. 16 months fawn, taller and more mature than winner, excellent style and conformation, moved soundly front and rear with good topline. First three in this class were difficult to split, I liked their style and overall balance and all their handlers got the best out of their exhibits.
3rd Duckett's Elmanash Aleisha. Worth a mention, b/fawn white at just a year, lost out on maturity today but I liked her very much.
