Picture

Steph Marston-Pollock

JS Veteran Stakes

1st Ledger’s Ch Tradewind Touch of Magic ShCM

Balanced bitch of good proportions, pleasing head and expression. Shoulders well laid back, deep brisket, well filled chest. Broad back, nicely shaped topline that was held on the move. Moved with good width behind, reaching out in front. BVIS.

Minor Puppy

1st Hardcastle’s Collooney Lizzie Giz Abit

Pale fawn bitch of a nice size with plenty of scope. Strong yet feminine head with a harder expression, head seems to be breaking up at the moment. Would prefer a tighter, finer ear. Long, elegant neck into well laid shoulders. Good depth of chest, with plenty of fill will continue to develop well with age.  Well ribbed back, good length of loin. Lovely rear angulation showing drive on the move. Moved very positively for such a baby, reaching out in front. Lots of fun to be had with this one in the future! BPB,RBB,BPIS.

Junior

1st Johnston’s Danluke Luck Be A Lady

Shapely, moderate bitch of a strong type, portraying a truer whippet outline than that of 2. Pleasing head and expression with strength of muzzle yet remaining feminine. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, elbows well tucked in. Deep chest that was well filled, good spring of rib. Held her topline on the move. Moderate but correct rear angulation. Moved with reach and drive but maybe would benefit from carrying a little less muscle tone as she was shown in quite hard condition. Carried her tail a little high today however didn’t take it away from her, very pleased to award her 2 classes!

Novice

1st Head’s Demerlay Endless Love

Beaten in an earlier class, a young puppy bitch of a nice shape and size. Pleasing head into a good length of neck. Not the front assembly of others she came up against today. Covered plenty of ground when standing. She gives the impression of being strong but remains feminine. Her lovely whippet outline won her this class.

Special Beginners

Graduate

1st Morris, Waddell & Place’s April Showers at Crosscop

Ultra feminine, classy, fawn bitch. Lovely type with a pleasing head and expression. Tight, fine ears. Long, elegant neck down into well laid shoulders. Would prefer a little more chest fill and depth there. Well ribbed back into a good length of loin, flowing topline which was held on the move. Well angulated, powerful rear. Moved with reach and drive, pleased to award her BB & RBIS.

Post Graduate

1st Hedley’s Knoxhill Snowy Morning

Lovely shapely, fawn bitch. Nice size and well bodied. Whippet head and expression. Good layback of shoulder and deep, filled in chest. Nice spring of rib. Plenty of length and good width of loin. Moving a little close behind. Great temperament, very much enjoying her day!

Limit

1st Morris, Waddell & Green’s Crosscop Count On Me

Shapely, brindle bitch with no exaggerations. Would prefer a more classic whippet head and expression but nevertheless everything about her is correct. Good long, strong neck down into very well laid shoulders. Nice deep chest with plenty of fill, good spring and length of rib. Mature bodied with good width across her back. She won this tough class on her front movement and she just gave just a little bit more today.

Open

1st Mycroft’s Supetas Dazzalicious JW

Stylish bitch of a lovely size and shape covering the ground when standing. Correct, feminine head and length of neck. Would prefer a deeper chest with more fill and in turn spring of rib. She is well ribbed back and has a good length of loin. Well angulated rear with good proportions. Won this class on her honest movement.

Special Racing/Lure Coursing

1st Third’s Badgers Fable of Bruntsfield

Lovely, balanced outline. True whippet head and expression, good length of neck. Well ribbed back, adequate length of loin. Would have preferred a little more angulation front and back as this one a little too moderate for me. Moving a little close behind. However she gives the lasting impression of a typical whippet which some today didn’t.
